I'm off! My start was a little later than planned but, for once, I refused to go spastic about making a deadline and made sure I took the time I needed to get everything packed and organized in the car in a logical way.
Unfortunately, today was a push day to get a good start towards destinations south. Otherwise, I could have already stopped at the following sites: The Mall of America, The home of Spam, John Wayne birthplace, the Bridges of Madison County, and home of Jesse James. See why this isn't flyover country???
Tomorrow the plan is to get a fairly early start and check out two Frank Lloyd Wright homes in KC--Frank Bott House and Clarence Sondern house. I'm only planning to grab some exterior photos as I have 4.5 hours to Tulsa, and I want to get there before the Greenwood Cultural Center (aka Black Wall Street) closes. I"m also planning to view outdoor memorials, and I hope find some good food, if internet review are to be trusted!
