Today was a travel day to get from Kumily to Allepy, which is about 57k but a four hour drive. The only break in the drive was a stop for a waterfall. I just might have been more interested in the colorful butterflies.
Driving in India is definitely physical, but even riding in a car is kind of a work out. There are stops and starts, accelerations/de accelerations and then there is the aggressive swerving. A bus barreling down at you in the opposite direction? No problem just pass a way and quickly swerve back into you lane at the last minute.
Also if interest is groups of people walking along the road. Yesterday it was a bunch of young men in black carrying yellow flags. Today it was people of all ages wearing yellow shirts and white hats and many of them. I think it was something religious as we caught up with a truck bearing the Virgin Mary.
The hotel is in a primo location for views but not so much for walking. One I figured I would get lost in the maze of irregular, narrow "roads" and two I was not sure it was safe for a woman alone. It probably was, but I erred on the side of caution. That left getting another massage as an option for the remainder of the afternoon.
It was again an Ayurvedic massage so starting in the chair. Grishma was very sweet and is one of the gifted masseuses. Anyone can be trained to give a massage, but some people have what I call energy hands. You feel they are imparting positive energy to you. That was Grishma. I told her so and she seemed very pleased. I was pretty relaxed after that--she even washed my hair!
It was time for a rest before dinner and work.
