I haven't posted for a few
days because it's been a little hectic and i'm recovering from the Air BNB from hell.
Just a quick catch up -- I hit another mansion in Natchez on Monday for their costume/garment collection and I had a paddle on St. Jhn's lake that Margery told me to check out. I went for cheap on Air BnB t
his night and got what I paid for -- bad smell, dust encrusted appliances, no toilet paper, hole in the ceiling and critters in the walls. I was out of there by 6:30 the next morning.
Tuesday was St. Francisville, mostly known for having one of the oldest railroads in the country and Audobon spending time
there to paint many of his water colors of birds. I learned that his mother was a Hatian slave or servant with whom his father dallied (one of several). Interesting that not only was he illegitimate but also mixed race -- two things I never knew about him before. And he also spend some time on family property near Norristown, PA, so next time i'm visiting my friend Ennis in Wayne we will walk there.
I had a lovely B and B last night, two hot showers, and wonderful breakfast, so i'm myself again. More later from Biloxi this evening.
